Hathaway Farm & Corn Maze Do’s & Don’ts

Helpful Tips for a Pleasant Visit

Having lunch right in the maze.

A few things to keep in mind in preparing for your trip to the Farm:

  1. Weather: Our Farm is open weather permitting. Muddy, slippery ground conditions after rainstorms may force us to stay closed even after the rain has stopped. We also close on days where the forecast is for 90 degree or higher temperatures. We will post each day on our home page if we are open & what conditions are. Please call ahead if you have any questions about the weather in our area. If we need to close the farm due to weather on your scheduled day, you can reschedule your group.
  2. Attire: Dress in layers for changing weather conditions. It may be hot or windy. We strongly advise good sturdy footwear like sneakers or other closed toe shoes.
  3. Don’t forget sunscreen, & be sure to have your phone fully charged so you can access the mapping. Now that our bats seem to have gone, bug spray is a good idea too although we don’t have very many bugs (ONE is too many for me!).
  4. Our Snack Shack is open on the weekends beginning September 3rd & running through October. The Menu can include Chicken Tenders, Fries, Hot Dogs, Hathaway Farm Burgers, Chili, Mini Donuts either with maple dip or cinnamon & sugar, Snow Cones, popcorn, water, sodas & cider. There are picnic tables available.
  5. Our policy with schools is that if there are children who do not follow the rules anywhere on the Farm, they will need to spend their time here on the bus with a chaperone. This is non-negotiable.
  6. For everyone’s safety & enjoyment at the farm, please be sure to review the following Rules with your group before your arrival.

General Farm Rules

  • Smoking, vaping, pets & alcohol are ABSOLUTELY PROHIBITED at all times everywhere on the farm.
  • Please read & follow all signage instructions located on the farm.
  • Please keep in mind this is home to our animals. We ask that you treat them with respect & never chase them, raise your voice or run in their barn.
  • Do not travel into roped off areas. This is a working farm & there are dangers.
  • Please treat all the people you meet on the farm, both other visitors & staff, with respect (& don’t chase them either!).

Corn Maze Rules

  • STAY ON THE PATHS.  Although you may not realize it, cutting through the corn ruins the maze & we cannot repair corn.  (WE don’t even cut through the corn…ever!).
  • NO SMOKING, No Vaping, No Alcohol, No pets.
  • Do not pick, knock down, throw or “mess” with the corn.
  • Children & adults need to stay together at all times.
  • No running & please be respectful of others.

We have a NO TOLERANCE policy that we stick to for everyone’s safety & enjoyment.  If we feel your behavior on the Farm is unacceptable, we ask you to leave.  We do not give warnings.  We do not give refunds.
