Hathaway Farm Beef is certified by the USDA that we do not use added growth hormones or antibiotics with our beef. They are only fed the feeds that we grow here on our farm which is nice green grass pasture, haylage, some dry hay & a little corn silage. We do buy a basic mineral supplement for them to keep them well balanced & healthy.

We have been raising beef since we went out of the dairy business in 1986 although we just began “finishing” them & marketing them for retail this last fall. Up until then we basically ran a cow/calf operation where the calves were sold as feeders at about 8 months old for someone else to grow them up to slaughter age.

We pride ourselves on the fact that we grow happy, healthy beef animals in a very humane environment & produce delicious, flavorful cuts of beef. Taste our homegrown difference & let us know what you think!

Our beef is now available in all your favorite cuts just in time for grilling season. All cuts are frozen to ensure freshness. Our ground beef comes in 1 pound + tubes and the cuts are packaged in clear, frost proof cryopac. We also have  a CSA Membership opportunity & you can order a side or whole beef too.

Where to Buy Our Beef

Right now we sell our beef & maple products from here at the farm, & BJ, our “Market Man”, has a booth at the local farmer’s market as well. If you are out of town you can order by phone. Just give us call at 802.775.2624. We ship beef , within the continental United States in special packaging via second-day UPS.

You are also always welcome to come up to the Farm any day of the week to purchase your beef. We ask that you give us a call first (802.775.2624) to ensure someone is here (we may just be out in the barns or fields somewhere & not hear you arrive).

Our beef is available in Roots the Restaurant on Wales Street in Rutland. This is a wonderful restaurant specializing in  local foods. We are their sole beef provider & there is generally several different beef dishes on the menu. The Palms restaurant in Rutland also serves our ground beef burgers.
